Surface Preparation
การเตรียมพื้นผิวรอยต่อ

Backing & Masking

การยิงซิลิโคนลงรอยต่อ

ยิง DOWSIL™ 791 ลงรอยต่ออย่างต่อเนื่องด้วย แรงดันบวก (positive pressure) ใช้ได้กับปืนยิงลม (air-operated gun) และเครื่องจ่ายซิลิโคนแบบ bulk ทั่วไป ควรยิงให้เนื้อซิลิโคนเต็มรอยต่อ ไม่ให้มีโพรงอากาศ เนื้อไม่ไหลย้อยและเส้นใยน้อย (low string)

การปาดแต่งและการบ่มตัว

ปาดแต่งก่อนผิวเซ็ต: ปาดแต่งรอยยาแนวด้วยแรงกดเบาๆ ภายใน 15 นาที (ก่อนเกิดผิวฟิล์ม) เพื่อให้ซิลิโคนแนบสนิทกับผิวรอยต่อ แล้วลอก masking tape ออกทันที ผิวแห้งสัมผัสได้ใน ~40 นาที และบ่มตัวเต็มที่ภายใน 7–14 วัน (ที่ 25°C, ความชื้น 50%)

Engineering Note: หลักการออกแบบรอยต่อ (Joint Design Rule)

เพื่อให้ซิลิโคนรับการเคลื่อนตัว ±50% ได้เต็มประสิทธิภาพ ควรออกแบบสัดส่วน ความกว้าง : ความลึก ของรอยยาแนวประมาณ 2:1 และใช้ backing rod เพื่อควบคุมความลึกและป้องกันการยึดเกาะ 3 ด้าน (three-sided adhesion) นอกจากนี้ ห้ามทาสีทับ (สีไม่ยึดเกาะผิวซิลิโคน) และห้ามใช้กับงานที่สัมผัสอาหารโดยตรง — ควรทดสอบการยึดเกาะ (test placement) ก่อนงานจริงเสมอ
